Grafting (sometimes known as The Kitchener Stitch) is a technique for invisibly joining live stitches in your knitting. It's often used to close up the toes of socks, but can be used any time you need to seam two sets of live stitches together.
Level: Step Two Grafting is an intermediate-advanced knitting technique. For this workshop you'll already need to know how to knit in the round.
Homework:
Yarn: scrap yarn in a lighter colour and preferably a smooth (not mohair!) worsted weight or thicker, so you can see your stitches easier
Needles: to match your yarn
Using your favourite method of knitting in the round, cast on 32 stitches and join to knit in the round. Knit approximately 2.5 cm / 1". Do not bind off!
Bring Along:
• your homework, still on your needles
• a darning needle
